FreightCaviar’s Paul-Bernard Jaroslawski Shares the Secrets to His Success
November 19, 2024
Paul-Bernard Jaroslawski, the Founder and President of FreightCaviar, embodies the idea that success in logistics—or any industry—is rarely a solo journey. During a recent appearance on Triple T Transport’s Stay In Your Lane Podcast, Jaroslawski shared the details of his career journey, which has been full of unexpected twists, advice from mentors, and reminders of the power of collaboration.
Growing up in Des Plaines, Illinois, Jaroslawski graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2015 with a degree in psychology. After initially considering a master’s degree, financial constraints led him to explore other paths. A fraternity connection introduced him to a role in carrier sales, marking the start of his logistics career.
Seasoned logistics professional Joe Lombardo has long championed the idea that success in the industry comes from hiring the right people, not just the right résumés. Reflecting on his admiration for Jaroslawski’s journey, he emphasizes the value of diverse backgrounds in shaping strong teams.
“In my career, some of the best people I hired in transportation were non-transportation people,” Lombardo says. “I had a biology major who was probably one of the better analysts I ever had. You’re hiring the person, not the not the piece of paper.”
After gaining initial experience, Jaroslawski spent time traveling the world, eventually managing operations for a company in Ukraine. His willingness to embrace challenges and seize opportunities led to the founding of FreightCaviar, a platform that bridges gaps between brokers, drivers, dispatchers, and other logistics professionals as a source for news topics from across the industry.
Jaroslawski credits much of his growth to key figures who provided mentorship and guidance. Among them were Ryan Rogers of TextLocate, who helped Jaroslawski monetize FreightCaviar’s content and shape it into a business, and Tim Higham of Ascend TMS, who invested in Jaroslawski’s ventures and shared invaluable insights.

The logistics industry is inherently interconnected. No broker, driver, or entrepreneur operates in isolation. Success stems from partnerships, whether it’s a mentor offering guidance, a team executing day-to-day tasks, or peers providing support and perspective. Jaroslawski’s experience highlights the importance of surrounding oneself with individuals who offer expertise, stability, and encouragement.
“I don’t think anybody is successful on their own,” he says. “It always takes special people—whether it be support, direction, advice, or stability. You gain so much from your peers and the people you respect.”
As Jaroslawski’s story shows, logistics is more than moving goods—it’s about building relationships, learning from others, and creating opportunities for mutual success. This philosophy is exemplified by FreightCaviar’s latest offering: a dedicated job board for careers in logistics.
Designed to connect talent with employers in the logistics sector, the platform offers free job postings for those seeking new hires. For employers looking to amplify their reach, a $99 option includes promotion in FreightCaviar’s newsletter and social media channels, ensuring visibility within a highly targeted audience. As an extension of the FreightCaviar umbrella, the job board reflects their mission to foster connections and support professionals across the freight and logistics industry.
Whether you’re just starting or are a seasoned professional, Jaroslawski’s career is a reminder that in logistics, no one succeeds alone. By building connections and staying open to guidance, anyone can navigate this dynamic industry to achieve their goals.
