Is the logistics and transportation industry over-saturated with 3PL brokers? Estimates on how many brokers in the industry vary wildly between 17,000 and 100,000. John Mahle with Triple T Transport estimates that there are at least 20,000 brokers operating in the United States. Many of which have been added in the last several years. Joe Lombardo with Ege Avenue Associates references a market research paper that estimates a huge increase of over 36% growth over the next 6 years.
